@hawaii34 im probably too late to help you now but i would go air force if you want
the best chance at getting firefighting..Im 17 and did the softbook program and just signed my contract to be an AF firefighter.

They are phasing 21M out of active duty, but keeping it in the reserves and guard.

alright thanks bro...but do you think the air force is a better route to go for millitary firefighting? can I ask you was 21m a good job in the army? what I mean by that is by sayin did you mainly do firefighting duties in army or no? how long was you in the army? are you doing anykind of civillian firefighting now? sorry for all the questions man I promise I wont ask anything else if you answer those questions for me man

What do I need to qualify to become an Air Force Fire Fighter as far as my ASVAB score. My recruiter told me the Air Force is looking for mechanics blah blah blahhhh....

hey bro do they stil have army firefighting? my recruiter keeps on tellin me that the army is makin it a civillian job now...are you still in the army? I scored an 83 on my asvab & I want to do firefighting, but my recruiter keeps on tellin me that I cant get that job...I would really appreciate a response bak from you...thanks & god bless

Two things....yes there are Army Soldiers as FIRE FIGHTERs (21M).... I am not longer in but when I was in there was talk about trying to get rid of the MOS. IF that's what you want to be then when you get to MEPS and seeing what jobs they will offer to you to join tell them that you just want 21M and if you cant have it you dont want to join the ARMY.

You have to ask the Recruiter what the score is needed.
