Three Stooges: Men In Black - The GREEN Canary

This is a selective-color test I tried out using the classic Three Stooges short "Men In Black". There's a scene in the short in which a mental patient believes he's seeing green canaries that aren't there... until one suddenly lands on Moe's shoulder

By using the colorized version created by West Wing/Columbia, I decided to enhance this scene by making everything black and white EXCEPT the canary, thus making their "scared as all hell" reaction even bigger.

Eh, I'm not quite that good. Like I mentioned elsewhere, I just used the already colorized footage for this film, and surrounded the bird with the black and white footage... so basically only he was in color.

Thanks, but most of the work was done by West Wing while I just "tinkered" :-b Basically I had two layers. The top was the black and white version, and the bottom was the colorized version. I just used a masking tool in Sony Vegas to block out the black and white portion where the canary was. So basically, I used a similar polygon masking technique that West Wing did for colorization.

The big patient with the mustache (Billy Gilbert) was famously known for the voice of Sneezy in disneys SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS.
