As promised, here is the first part of my tutorial video series for the piano version of Snuff, by Slipknot.

Be sure to subscribe to make sure you're kept in the loop with the next tutorial, and all future videos by me.

I've intentionally refrained from using music theory jargon in this video, and will continue to do so for the remainder of the series. I personally enjoy music theory and learning from it, however not everybody appreciates it or has a comprehensive understanding of it. So to help make this a generic video, I've toned down on the technical language.

Sustain pedal, dynamics (loud & quiet), and articulation (how you connect each note to the next) are things that I'm leaving to the player. You're on your own with these, so experiment and enjoy. The best tools for dynamics and articulation are your own ears. Listen to the original song and get a feel for how it should be interpreted.

I'm aware that most pianists will find this a walk in the park. In the grand scheme, this isn't a difficult song. However, it's designed to help those who are struggling learning it and/or have recently taken up playing the keys.

If you still need help, feel free to write me and I'll see what I can do for you.

  • This is awesome dude, excellent teaching skills. Took me 30 minutes to master this

  • @civicsleeper187 Thanks a lot for the kind words. Really glad it helped and that you could learn from this. Good luck with the rest of the song!

  • Thanks for this tutorial so much! I've just started playing piano and not so good at it, but today I figured the right and left hands separetly thanks to you, hope I can manage to combine them.

  • @begumcitir Hey it's cool. If you've just started, this will be pretty tricky and confusing to take on, so don't get discouraged. But great to hear that the video's helped. Things should be easier when you tackle each hand separately (like you've done already), and yeah...combining them's the hard part. But also the most rewarding and fun when you nail it ;) My other lessons might help too...

Thanks for the kind words, and good luck with the piano playing. Don't give up - work hard!

  • hey can someone tell me the tuning

    ?

  • @sweetywolf09 No worries. I do my best to reply to all comments. If people are kind enough to give praise, the least I can do is take the time to reply back.

  • @Zer0MT You're very welcome. (: Everythng is well explained and thank you for actually taking a look at your comments and replyig back. :P

  • @sweetywolf09 Great stuff, really good to hear the lesson's helped you out. If you don't include both hands in your playing, you'll only be getting a maximum of 50% of the fun ;)

Remember it takes time, and using both hands now instead of one will be a huge step forward, opening a much larger world for you in the music you play.

Keep practicing and getting better, and I guarantee you it will pay off.

Thanks for the kind words, support and subscription!

  • @Zer0MT Dude, I used to only play with one hand and didn't think i would be able to play with two hands and I now can, it's all thanks to you! Thank you so much! You've actually helped me improve on my piano skills. You did an awesome job(: Keep playing!
