  • As of September 30, 2010, Producers Hunt Lowry and Mark Johnson have partnered with the Mysteriacs in both pledging and pushing the movie script and concept through to Hollywood.

  • As of today, May 19, 2009, the final draft of the Myst - The Book of Ti'ana script has been completed.

Adrian Vanderbosch has sent the script to, and it has been registered by, the Writer's Guild of America and the Library of Congress. The script has reached it's final draft at 249 pages.

The Mysteriacs are now moving towards bringing the script to Hollywood and gaining support for the project.

  • As of Today, September 25th 2008, the Mysteriacs have received the full rights to the Myst movie, directly from Rand Miller himself.

This is now the Official Myst Movie, sanctioned by Cyan Worlds.

  • Amazing movie, so far. I've recently ordered the three books, and they should arrive within a week. Will the movie itself be pictures, as this was, or will it be live actors? Regardless, I look forward to it.

  • It will be real actors. This was merely an animatic made by the Mysteriacs to get Cyan's blessing to go ahead with this (seeing as they don't have the money to actually buy the rights to the Book of Ti'ana).

So yes, even though this is good, there will be a real cast, not just pictures.

  • I think Myst would be better as an animated movie rather than live action. The drawings here were wonderful and I think it would translate better than a live action which would rely very heavily on chroma keying and probably cheesy set pieces. Maybe a cgi enhanced animated movie?? An animation would let the artist's idea be better expressed and let the viewers mind fill in the minor gaps with reasonable clarity allowing any fan (new and old) to understand and enjoy the D'ni story!

    JMHO :)

  • Please let this happen! This movie would be amazing.

  • @nfinn42 Yes. It seems like his name should have more syllables and stress on the O.

  • Thank goodness no squees were harmed!

  • @AWGMJANS indeed, almost certainly not. Much like, say, the Thomas Covenant series and its endless rumors of a movie deal. And for the same reason: if they do it right it won't be profitable, and if they do it profitably it won't be true to the source material.

Some things just don't translate well to the movie format.

  • Pronunciation throughout bugs me. Did anyone else feel strongly that Veovis should be pronounced "VAY-oh-VEESE" and not as if it rhymes with "Beavis"? :\

  • i doubt there will ever be a motion picture of Myst.

  • What music tracks are used for this Trailer? i would like to use them for a school project involving this book.

  • I think its called requiem for a dream.

  • anyone know what the song in the soundtrack is called? Particularly the epic part at 4:00?
