Stage Face & Hair worked a bit of makeup magic for CYT of Kansas City's 2011 production of The Wizard of Oz.. Our Wicked Witch started the show in black and white as Miss Almira Gulch. We colored her hands before curtain and she played these scenes in gloves. Following her initial scene, she had a few moments free, but needed to be onstage during the tornado. Since she was not lit during the tornado, we did the facial shadows between the first two scenes. After the tornado, we had roughly 9 minutes to complete her transformation and have her back in Munchkinland as the Witch.

Kudos to actress, Rachel Phillips, and to the Makeup Committee members working on this process. You were top-notch!
