  • Man I dont care what anybody says,,, this camera is TIGGGHT! I have all canons before buying this one, even have the canon xl-h1 (also hd) and the only things i dont like with this is 1 the program that comes with it (almost useless, but i use premiere anyway) and the lense lenses dont come off. oh yea, and its almost too big to fit in my camera case. But besides that, the quality is not good, its AWESOME. cant beat it. (and i don't even like Panasonic)

  • It's the SD-1 with XLR...and it's shoulder-mount. I have a job now because of the HMC-70. Most people don't really care about the technical specs. When they hear "HD" and see that it's a shouldermount they're already impressed... While on the otherhand...nobody takes someone seriously when they're shooting on a little handheld camera(even if it's the same thing).

  • I got a question. I know that in regards to PAL and NTSC there are different lines etc. But how about SD cards? cause i'd rather for out 2 grand or so and purchase this version than pay an extra 2 grand just to get the PAL model. is it a good or bad move?

  • agreed.

  • Funny that he did not say that the HMC70 is basically the consumer HDC-SD1 attached to a big plastic box.

  • nvm i miss heard the other review,it has no Hard Drive.

  • Ooops forgot to say something,i asked about the Hard Drive cause he didnt mention it.

  • On another video review i heard it can have a 30 -32gig Hard Drive which gives about 5 hours of recording time,is this true?

  • hi,

I'm looking into buying this model but have read mixed reviews about the sound quality even with an external mike. it seems to be ok with you thought.

  • what about useing a matrox card? are you firmillure with that and if so would it make it any faster? i know when i create a video effect there is no render time at all.donte know how it would work on those memory cards
