Hollywood's not interested in storytelling; that's why he ended up going back to Hong Kong to direct. I can't really say I blame him. They just won't let him do what he does best, even though that's why they hired him. The only movie he's made here that's come close to anything he did before then was "Face/Off." That's why a lot of the Hong Kong directors that came after him don't do American films anymore--too much bullshit with the Hollywood system.

@LukeMM95 Congrats on making the second dumbest comment here... you are epic

@mappingtheshit Well sorry if I'm not familar with how the triads work but at this point Mark has been reduced to a simple errand boy and I wasn't aware the triads armory was open for his low status.

@LukeMM95 I think you made the dumbest comment eve here on youtube history...

@HarpoTheVillain Thanks for the info. I'm well aware about the Beretta pistol and this is one of the rare scenes where John Woo has shown it being reloaded ;)

@LukeMM95 Though Mark fell in standing to the bottom of the organization, he's not precisely a drunk hobo. He's ankle height, but not quite down the gutter. Also, it IS HK mafia. It's pretty easy to get ahold of guns and ammo.
Also, useless trivia concerning guns. Mark uses a Beretta M92 pistol, the classic John Woo semi-automatic that's in almost every movie of his. But the OTHER pistol Mark uses is a Browning Hi-Power, American semi-automatic that also uses 9mm ammo like the Beretta.

@LukeMM95 He found a gang, stole a gun from one of the members, killed the entire gang and took all their weapons. It's Badass Economy 101.
"Give Chow Yun-Fat a gun, and he's superman. Give him two, and he's God!"

Which DVD version is this?

This is the Anchor Bay DVD release. It's a solid transfer and the subtitles are fantastic, but the audio skips during the shoot-out in this scene and the beginning/end credits have been omitted (Anchor Bay used an international print to make their transfer).
