@Spudskie Audacity is becoming more and more powerful all the time and has been built by people who users of other software so it brings some of those elements with it. I wasn't a fan before but the program has improved dramatically. For a beginner looking not to spend much money I think it's great. But when it comes to doing more than just recording your voice and making sample demos you're going to want something a little more powerful. I say go ahead and use it!

@Spudskie Oops! The second sentence should read I have been doing voice-overs from time to time in a studio and am looking to record at home. Sorry about the typo.

Hello. I have been voice-overs from time to time in a studio and am looking to record at home. I don't have a lot of money so I am very interested in Audacity since it is free. My question is, how does Audacity stack up against the other audio recording software that is available? Do a lot of voice-over professionals use Audacity? Thank you for your time and thank you for the tutorials.

Absolutely - Like an Ice-Rink DJ in the 80's - I do take requests. If there is anything you'd like me to cover let me know. I'll do my best to fit it in. I'm really glad you found it helpful.
How do you get the tracks the way they are in the video? Like 3 different tracks?

@chikychiky12 After you open the initial audio file - it's File, Import, Audio - import the next track and it will stack up below the tracks opened before it.
Hope it helps.
