well being a motorist, it really is so annoying when cyclists ride in the middle of the road forcing me to drive 30 in a 60.... please stay to the side, and keep out of the road. It's really that simple

@ninjaseven1 Cyclists sometimes take the middle to be noticed by other road users (Ok it didn't work here) and to try and stop others from passing if to narrow and unsafe to do so. Would riding on the left side have helped me here?

@EasySlowRider i do share the road. if i can get into the next lane i do. i'm talking when a cyclist is in the middle of a 2-lane road (as in one lane goes the other direction from the other) and he's in the MIDDLE of the road. then it's the cyclists who's being selfish. especially when the speed limit is 55-60. they need to keep to the right side of the road so that we may pass safely

@ninjaseven1 Are you serious? You want to squeeze, yes squeeze past a cyclist riding in the gutter at 55-60mph. Come on man, think. This is why defensive riding is being done on the roads you talk about. If you can't pass the cyclist DON'T! WAIT until it is safe to do so.

@EasySlowRider Today a cyclist really pissed me off and he knew full well. In a queue of traffic moving away I was accelerating and a cyclist cut in front causing me to brake. Then he sat in the middle of the left hand lane all the way to the next set of lights, having me wait and miss 2 green lights which all the drivers in front had gone through, delaying me by about 4 or 5 minutes. I think some cyclists do this out of spite for car drivers in general.

@ninjaseven1 Learning to drive in the UK I was taught never to beep at cyclists or pedestrians. I think the reasoning is that if they have no idea you're behind them (and in most cases they'd have to be pretty deaf not to notice) a loud sudden noise is just going to scare the pants off them and not help the situation at all.

As a cyclist i stick to this, if i am at dangerous jump off the cycle, get into a ball and hope for the best,

imagine if you was to close, that's what we are chatting about and it can be anything,

WIND/CARS/Animals/ Even the fact that one of my gears jammed and forced me into a dangerous situation,

@ninjaseven1 I'm a math teacher. I'm used to people confusing personal conviction with logic and it's quite obvious to everyone here that you're the one who doesn't get it. I should have known you're an American, where "might means right" and where it's OK to blow someone's head off with a gun for stepping on your lawn. @PlanCartesien apparently you do not know what logical thinking is. it's simple really. there is a problem, cyclists and motorists can't get along due to actions from BOTH parties not just one or the other. as i said, i don't mind waiting, however, they teach you in drivers ed to lightly tap your horn so people know you're behind them. at least thats how it is here in CO and that is considered courteous. and btw, who's being the disrespectful one here? it's definitely you
