"Summer Daze" at the PAWS Galt, CA, wildlife sanctuary.

Jackie Coyote was just a little pup in 2002 when she first came to PAWS and Pat was one of the few people Jackie grew up knowing and trusting. Jackie gets very happy when she sees Pat and their interactions show this.

Roy and Claire along with Kim were tiny cubs when they cam to PAWS. They have all grown up considerably in the last six years and they enjoy their long days of summer.

Sosha was seized by the DEA from a basement in a house in Detroit, Michigan. He was being used as a guard dog for drugs that were kept in the basement. He came to PAWS in 1995 and is in his late teens. Sosha, being a mountain lion, is one of the few big cats that purr and if you listen you can hear it before he starts talking.

Denny and Pfieffer have been together since they arrived at PAWS as cubs in 1997, with another cub named Max. Sadly, Max passed away due to renal failure but Denny and Pieffer continue to enjoy their Summer Daze at PAWS.

Gracie came to PAWS after she was seized by California Fish and Game in 2000, from someone keeping her as a pet illegally. She is one of the sweetest tigers we have ever met and is always in good humor.

Robert, an American Bobcat, was also an illegal pet who was seized and brought to PAWS by California Fish and Game in 1997.

Samantha in came to PAWS in 1993 as a cub. She was the product of a breeding facility in Arkansas and was malnourished to the point her
back legs were underdevolped and could not support her weight. After supplemental therapy at PAWS she blossomed and has been
very happy at PAWS.

Jack, an American Black Bear was brought to PAWS by California Fish and Game in May of 2007.

Sampson, an American Black Bear, came to PAWS with 3 other bears from Houston SPCA after a roadside zoo had abandoned them. They were kept at a local dog shelter until they were brought to PAWS.

Alexander, Black Leopard came to PAWS fron the Houston SPCA in 1999. He had been kept as a pet and was reliquished to authorities after scratching a child. Alexander is a Black Leopard, not a Black Panther as some people inaccurately describe.
