I work as a Passenger Services Agent for easyJet and I have heard the funeral lie given to myself countless times. I just think how low can you get to lie about 'going' to a funeral. I feel sorry for the genuine ones who are going to a funeral that I have to refuse travel.

@lovingmonkey212 You can't get an earlier flight in case of an emergency when someone in your family is in a bad way unexpectedly. You book as soon as you can and go to get there before someone dies or at least in time for a funeral. There's no way to predict that happening far in advance.

@concorde216 Yes, that IS really low. I have had to travel due to a death in the family and it's so stressful trying to get there. In once case when my mother was dying. So to think people actually LIE about such things is really disgusting. When my uncle died I didn't make it there in time due to being bumped on a flight. So to people thinking of lying about this you are causing harm to people really caught in a distressing situation.
