Toledo Mayor Mike Bell hadn't always given SB 5 a full-throated endorsement. This was his appearance on a Toledo news station after the State Senate had passed the bill.

  • There's already a "recess switch", it's called a "Memorandum of Understanding." That basically means a governmental employer and a public service union can make a mutually agreed on change to an employment contract in the middle of it's life. Mike Bell already has his retirement and his Mayor's pay, no skin off of his back. Amazing how he's getting a pension from a job he "lost" because the city ran out of money.

  • All true... if the politicians first eliminate all other excessive and wastefull spending. But no.... they want to jump into cutting critical services and benefits and pay and positions and ultimately public safety. If all of the wastefull, non essential uses of taxpayer money is not stopped first the rest of what they say is blah blah blah

  • Vote NO on issue 2

  • Mayor calls it a "mixed bag... some good parts... some seem maybe a little bit punitive in nature...." which means the only option is to reject. The referendum is not a pick and choose what you like. It's yes, or NO on Issue 2!
