warming up before re-recording this old track for an instrumental demo. drums were recorded previously and played back quietly through the PA which made it hard to hear... don't mind the small inaccuracies

The amp that Lille uses in this video its a Marshall JCM 900?

My band plays the same genre, and I'm the guitarrist, but I can't just get that kind of sound, it always sounds... punk. Did he uses another kind of overdrive or distortion?

I use an Schecter flying V Hellraiser diamond series... Is it a good one for playing this?

@baninimf hey there, it's a marshall jcm2000. the only reason we are getting this kind of distortion is the guitar or the pickup respectively. these are high gain pickups with an enormous output that drives the marshall into this heavy distortion. with any other guitar we used so far we had to insert an additional distortion tool such as the zoom tri metal pedal. we then use the clean channel of course.

Fuck yes I just got "Chapters of Repugnance" in the mail today! It's quite possibly the best brutal death metal ever written.

So, a Marshall JCM 2000 was used on that album? With just the distortion? What pickups are in the guitar that was used? Thanks! You guys have an amazing sound!

in this video, yes. but on the album we used a zoom tri-metal distortion pedal + boss compressor and noise gate with the marshall jcm 2000.

WICKED SICK.... I haven't been into Defeated Sanity for very long, only when Chapters Of Repugnance came out and I must say Defeated Sanity is just plain and simple wicked sick death metal... Definitely one of my favorites right now
