Thank you - this is a wonderful version of this song. I didn't think anyone could beat Van Morrison, but this is excellent.

The song was written in Ireland around 1920. The melody is based on an old tune called Gilderoy (Scottish) or "Dives and Lazarus", with a different time signature.
Your effort is a good attempt, but the rhythm goes wrong, especially towards the end.

I can hear singing... I think that means this version is not an instrumental. I like it tho. Do you know what this song is called in Gaelic at all?
