If your two-wheeled ride is showing its age, a fresh coat of paint will give it a new lease on life

  • This video is pretty awful. For a start it doesn't look very good when its finished. However, more importantly they neglect to tell you that you need the following tools:

A bottom bracket tool, crank extractor, chain-whip and a cassette-removal tool. On any bike built after about 1960, it is impossible to remove the chainset or the rear cassette without these.

I have been riding and repairing bikes all my life and have worked in bike shops. This video is a joke.

  • can u just paint a bike without removing anything?bcuz i'm scared of ruining the bike when i reassemble it.

  • @sefjaguar You could just take the wheel off...leaving the cassette on.

  • @sefjaguar you dont really need to remove the cassette.. but yeah this video is bad

  • I do this to all the bikes I steal so they can't be recognized.

  • considering it only costs like, £40 to get a powder-coat, this seems like a potentially disastrous waste of time

  • @forbiddenfriday honestly you have to take it apart to get the best paint job, u dont wanna sit there and use painters tape over painted stuff because sometime it could take paint off, so best bet is to take your bike completely apart and sand it down just enough where the paint will stick.

  • I'm doing this right now and Sanding the bike is taking forever

  • I remove everything when I paint my bike. When I say everything I mean everything.

  • @sefjaguar You don't need a crank extractor. I just restored a Raleigh Rapide and I banged the pin out of with a hammer.............and the whole thing just pulled out

  • @Kennethstupi ebay or your local car parts dealer
