Tom's father killed himself by committing suicide in the Ocean. I personally feel that this is Tom's way of feeling sometimes when he feels no emotion, or anything. I think he wants to feel no emotion towards having to deal with his fathers death. Showing that he feels like he is in purgatory! Tom's pain is his fathers suicide, which comes out in a lot of his songs. Disappoint is all about him disappointing his father and committing suicide.
