Back at home a young wife waits
Her Green Beret has met his fate
He has died for those oppressed
Leaving her this last request

Have him win the Green Beret

  • I just found out that Miklos Rozsa who composed the music to Ben Hur also composed the music to this movie as well. Knowing that I can really hear the similarities in this scene.

  • pure hollywood propaganda, anyone else who think's otherwise is braindead.2 million people in vietnam dead and this movie ends with ''you are what this is all about'' LOL.What a fucking joke.

  • @irish89055 Yeah, he supported a war against a U.S. ally fighting for its independence, just like America did in the 1700s. Millions would continue to perish well into the seventies. If people like Wayne had their way, "his country" wouldn't even exist. Not knowing East from West was the least of his problems.

  • @patrickthesaint hey, ignoramus, if you had bothered to look at a map you'd see part of the coast of S. Vietnam faces due west.... but the mid section where the US had bases it still could have the sun setting over water if when you look at the many bays and curves of the coast. John Wayne did do a service to his country... RIP Mr. Wayne..

  • I want to add, my cousin is in the RAF on the intel side, he has a wife and two children and he has expressed his respect for you yankees and you're fighting forces from the GI to the Green Beret my respect goes out to them all

    *salutes*

  • What about the sun setting in the east! Hilarious!

  • it broke my heart to see little hamchunk run from chopper to chopper and then to look at wayne and shout "No" in defiance :')

  • @bonacman I think it's because the film shows daylight before the scene of them walking into the "sunrise". Notice the sky before is blue, then it suddenly turns to orange and red as the sun "rises" at the end. That's why it's easy to believe they are walking into the sunset rather than the sunrise. Just my two cents.
