  • looks sort of silly. i think if i was wielding the knife and _really thrusted_ those techniques would make very little difference on the outcome. seems the knife guy is complying too much. that does not seem a good way to practice defending your life.

    Hi Tnx for responding,

Obviously you don't understand what's going on on this clip.

This is a DRILL it is by NO MEANS a fight nor sparring training.

This is knife tapping and Hunbad drill for training flow and sensitivity, this drill is only for skill development.

Ans a small suggestion from me....Don't think....just do..it seems like you thinking too much.

  • @Elhananm you are right, I dont understand. I just thought the knife guy would never be that easy in real life so whats the point of training easy. but after giving it a thought I sort of understand this "flow practice". I guess it would be important to do this against many different types of people, and not just one guy. liking the video.

  • @wtfronsson

Indeed, in order to develop good Flow skill and adhesive skill one should train with as many as possible different people.

Each person moves different, strikes different etc. a Although the principles are stay the same, we should develop skill to flow with different types of contact, this comes only with experience.

  • Always believed you never bring a knife to a gun fight

  • @flattop44sc

Same here....So what's the news about it?

  • This is one of my most favorite youtube videos ever! If I could give this vid 1 million stars, I would've!

  • @flattop44sc Yeah gun beats knife - provided your already aiming a loaded and made ready weapon at the knife guy from a distance of at least 22 feet. If you answer "no" to any of those criteria..... you and your gun (and your Femoral and Brachial arteries) are gonna have a real bad day

  • what is interesting is that the ones who criticise this drill cant even perform it on the basic level much less the alledged "real world" knife skills that they say would nullify every tapping drill ever performed.i wish i had knowledge of this tapping drill when me and my two friends were fighting off five guys (two had bottles and i had the misfortune of fighting empty hand vs. a knife). i didnt get slashed but knicked a couple of times. my footwork (forward "V") saved me. excellent video!

  • @Elhananm

I couldnt help but voice my opinion. As someone whos been training in Kali for a couple years now, I have at least scratched the surface of it. As far as knife tapping goes (as seen in the video), this is a drill, but you have to agree that their is reason to the drill other than skill, there are definite applications to a knife confrontation. Its hard for some to understand that as they havent seen it before. You arent gonna knife tap the guy all day of course. Prob. for 1-3 beats

  • Amazing , vibrant and great flow of energy.Good job guys! and for wtfronsson .First thing that i have learned in my years of martial arts practice is the ability to release the negative energy in my mind and the ability to appreciate good actions from other people.Try an introductory class and you will see what i mean.Once you immerse yourself in training you might even say ......its very spiritual.Live and learn my friend.

  • Pro :)
