I love to chant the Gayatri mantra with this precious soundtrack from Shantimayi. I have also posted this video on my public Facebook page, so that others may also be aided in their chanting practice. Ardith Mary

I can listen to this non-stop for such a long time.. I've heard other people chant this mantra, they do it so differently, I like this way a lot better, this seems more calm and rhythmic, but sometimes when I'm in a rush, I start to chant this mantra faster, but still powerfully rhythmically.

I don't repeat prayers or chants in foreign languages without understanding what they mean. Thank you for demonstrating and explaining everything. I always say that genuine teaching abilities are a gift. Thanks for sharing your gift. It's a beautiful mantra.

To those who nitpick about the "Exact Absolute Right Way" of chanting Gayatri.....I would like to share a couple of things.....FIRST- I remember a parable told somewhere involving either the Buddhist Mani Mantra or the Catholic Rosary (the story changes upon tellings).....A yogi/hermit/monk has been doing such a meditation for years...a guy arives on a boat & meets this holyman...upon observing the holyman's practice, the guy says "You're saying it wrong". After telling the hermit the......

If you are so opposed to the way this mantra is being chanted can YOU please post THE correct version so we all may learn for once and for all?
We are all doing our best and our intention is not about degrading anything. On the contrary, we are all here to learn. Remember, Sanskrit is not our first language.
Most times I pray and ask for guidance and for my spirit-guides to please correct any mistakes I could have made.
Like it's been said, intention is the key.
In love and light,
Corinne

Do you chant the long version?
Om Bhur Om bhuvaha Om Swaha
Om Maha Om Janaha Om Tapaha Om Satyam
Om Tat Savitur varenyam
Bhargo Devasys Dhimahi
Dhiyo Yonaha Prachodayat
There are many ways to chant the mantra.
In India at least two types of chanting are known. North and South chant the mantra quite differently.
Spending years with this Mantra,I asked my Vedic Master if it is right. He said it is a powerful straight and clear.
I want to thank all comments here.
May Mother Gayatri continue to bless this pronunciation those who feel it is a good one for them.

I would like to add here that none of you who know a bit about the Gayatri Mantra, has mentioned that women have never been permitted
to chant the Gayatri Mantra even though Mother Gayatri HERSelf is female. Now, It has been only Pundits who have been permitted to Chant the sacred mantra.
Now everyone is chanting the Gayatri Mantra.
Much has changed concerning Mother Gayarti.
A spiritually intimate relationship with her...is a divine revelation. May you all enter her heart through your heart.
