@ConceptSmokeScreen I agree with that. Used to use both NVG and Thermal Imaging in Iraq. Couldn't see anything when it was foggy (the fog looks pretty cool through the thermal imaging though.lol).

these guys were stealing panties because they are all serial pantie thiefs

Or you could just trigger the buildings built in smoke extraction fans... Or bring your own portable one like firemen do all the time...
-
How about wearing infra-red goggles to defeat the smoke screen?

smart.

Yeah cool but this would never stop THE BLIND BANDIT.

We hahve that fitted in our house its linked to the security system :D good way of protecting your home but always sets off your smoke detectorst that aren't linked to the system itself!

@Magnet108 It is possible to link certain smoke systems (for instance ours) to the fire panel and perform some integration to avoid this nuisance.
The other school of thought is that if the fire panel is not monitored, and the system is activated in anger, then the more nose the better.

This is an interesting point which has come up many times before basically the volume of smoke our machines produce is so vast that an extraction device would make little difference, especially during the timeframe required to carry out a raid.

Infra-red goggles rely on one of two basic technologies: thermal imaging and image intensifiers. Thermal imaging, as previously discussed isnt viable as a heat source is required. Image intensifiers are devices which amplify ambient light to assist vision in low-light situations. Security smoke reflects light extremely well, so what you would see would be like driving in thick fog with your headlights on full, only more intense. Strobe lights would make the experience even more confusing.

I stand corrected.
Either way, what are you going to see with them?
Heat sources are required for function hence the use in search and rescue (body heat).
At this stage, there are simply no reported instances of this equipment being employed successfully or otherwise to overcome security fog.
Bear in mind this is a product with a four decade pedigree and hundreds of thousands of commercial installations.

Thermal imaging cameras are:
1. Incredibly expensive
2. A military licensed product
That means.....most criminals do not have access to them.
The above is real footage, and genuine reactions.
If you perhaps meant night vision, this also would fail as it makes the fog effect worse by amplifying the light that is already being massively diffused by the fog.
Thanks for raising one of the most commonly brought questions.
