Jean Paul Fernandes - Study #1 of Villa-Lobos (Age 15)

Jean Fernandes was born in Brazil and moved to the US with his family in 1996. He began playing the guitar at age 7 and offered his first public recital/concert at age 10. He has performed concerts in Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay and in the US. His first CD was release in September of 2008, at age 14. He concertizes together with his younger brother, Jean Paulo Fernandes, another young virtuoso. Together, they form the youngest guitar duo as siblings performing at this level. Their father and only teacher, Saulo Fernandes, occasionally performs with them as a special guest. They have a vast classic guitar repertoire, including Bach, Villa-Lobos, Tarrega, Albeniz, Rodrigo, Sor, Haydn, and several Brazilian style pieces.
