@ryan49er1 not really no,both of them are fairly well aged,which means that this could have happened as many as 20 or even 30 years previous,it isn't uncommon to meet a person more than once in that kind of time frame.in fact it happens more often than you may think.

for me the idea of him being an ex deputy gives him great history and facility.the ghost idea does nothing for him.a simple equation to a multi-dimensional character.

I like the ambiguity of this, apparently the preacher is really some kind of ghost the haunts location of the film. Sort of reminds me of the ambiguity of the last scene in Good For Nothing. You don't know who lives or who dies. bitly com / y KFg D a

your preacher was actually one of stockburn's finest deputies who developed a conscience and renounced killing.stockburn shoots him in the back.this is why he asks la'hood how much a clear conscience costs.

all you have to do is look at preacher,he fits right in with the remaining deputies.

the explanation that he was a ghost is a bit simple and lame and applies only to high plains drifter.

According to the story line , when Preacher arrives , the little pigtailed girl reading Apocalypse about the fourth seal .Therefore we 're looking for the fourth horseman. Look up and you will find that death is the Pale Rider and Hell folows him.

Is the Preacher the same character as the Stranger in High Plains Drifter? Maybe not, but Clint of course always nails the role of the mysterious stranger who rides into town and dispatches the local villains :)
