Camp Floor Statement Against the Democrats' Trillion Dollar Health Care Bill

The American people have spoken: they do not want the tentacles of the federal government reaching into their lives and controlling their personal health care decisions.

Yet, that is exactly what will happen under the Democrats health care bill federal bureaucrats will be making your health care choices for you and the IRS will be enforcing them.

The American people know you cant reduce health care costs by spending $1 trillion or raising taxes by more than one-half trillion dollars.

The American people know that you cannot cut Medicare by over one-half trillion dollars without hurting seniors.

And, the American people know that you cant create an entirely new government entitlement program without exploding spending and the deficit.

They are right and the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has confirmed it.

Simply put, the Democrats bill will not only ruin our health care system, but the tax increases will ruin our economy and kill jobs.

I urge my colleagues to listen to the American people and kill this bill.

I didn't vote for O. But anyone who watched the election knew he was going to push healthcare. This is not new. The idiots are the people like you who are suddenly shocked. There was no fooling of the people, he talked about this all during his campaign, as did Hillary. Clinton tried, but didn't make it happen.

You say "The American Have Spoken" . They did, and voted for Obama. We all knew this was on his agenda before our votes were cast. So I say to you, the majority of American have in fact spoken, they spoke for this bill. The rest spoke, but not loud or convincing enough about a year ago.
