Pretty slow version of this well known tune. Must be a Radio-Broadcast having been using this for many years but I lost the name. Any help?

  • THANK YOU for what you were able to post! I love it at this tempo! Too bad all of it isn't there (perhaps you have been able to do a more complete post?) Beautiful! (The sections were 'together enough' for me to enjoy this!) And such a wonderful, unique tone!

  • Sax section are not playing together at all well. This is poor.

  • Lil' Darlin.

  • @mrezabek1

    Yeah...the frazing, man!

Say. is somebody trying to bestow some sort of refinement on Lil' Darlin' ...."Little Darling"?

  • Happy Early Birthday Dad!! ( Frank!)

  • This tempo is just about as close to the original as it can get. Frank played with

the band long enough to know and I was very lucky to sub for a sick bass player in 1971. So I know!

Love Neil Hefti's charts - you guys know his movie score "Duel in Diablo'?

  • Neil Hefti was a genius, trumpet player who went thru all kind of racial shit while on the band making Basie's sound. His arrangements for the band and Sinatra are better than Quincy's. The tightness of the band, frazing and whole band's togetherness give me still a hard on - and it was recorded back in 1962!

Frank is a great leader and still gets the same good feel even though I miss

Freddie Green's guitar. The rhythm section was incredible - once I saw the band with Bobbie Durham. Awesome!

  • ha haa a dead german crowd...

  • This is fabulous but not the original. Here in Chicago, Sid McCoy would end his radio show with this number. I was real young, a teenager and I waited for this. Wonderful, wonderful.

  • .....semplicemente stupendo ! Grazie Geepereet per la condivisione !
