Today is day eight of my fast on behalf of Darfur. I have been overwhelmed with kind comments of support, and i hope it is all translating into calls to congress and international governments. I dearly hope President Obama acts soon on this issue.

And, to get better acquainted of Darfur problem please read an influential article by the eminent african scholar Mahmoud Mamdani - "The Politics of Naming" published in London Review of Books. Prof. Mamdani also has an interview on Darfur at Democracy Now.
