Instructions on how to build a camera mount out of PVC. Once you've built this little device, you can attach it to any 3/4" PVC fitting, which allows you to build homemade monopods, tripods, dollies, crane jigs, steadycams, etc, out of very cheap materials. I wouldn't suggest using this method with a $10,000 camera, but you could really improve the quality of your home movies this way.

More videos will be coming, showing how to build some of this PVC camera equipment, as soon as I figure out how to do them. If you find new ways to use the camera mount, post a video response.

Speaking of which, check out my blog, where I've created a way to securely connect it, if that's a concern.

The first snippet of a song is the Unicorn Theme by Tangerine Dream from the Legend soundtrack. The second is me attempting to sing the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky.

  • You know what? You should patent all your PVC camera mount specially the MULTI POD (i do really like this, i did made already and ill be making some modification to keep more secure for the bigger camera like my DSLR). Thank you very much for sharing this!

  • @ramcasty

My problem is that although I love coming up with ideas, I don't really have any business sense. I'd rather give my ideas out to the world for free than have to deal with the hassle of patenting and marketing. Of course, if someone found a way to make this all profitable, I wouldn't mind taking on a business partner . . .

  • that my Paco Warabi is pretty crazy, I like the squirrel you esre very witty and mademe laugh, I really liked your comic inprovizacion I congratulate you very funny inventions and science, I have a nephew who manages the unicycle and juggling it with Chinese yoyo

  • @Inventonio

Gracias. Estaba uno payaso por seis años y uno profesor por seis años. Creyo que educacion debe ser divertido. Por cierto, puedo hacer animales de globos y caminar de monociclo al mismo tiempo.

Translation: Thanks. I was a clown for six years and a teacher for six years. I believe that education should be fun. By the way, I can make balloon animals and ride a unicycle at the same time.

  • I went and bought these things and found that not all parts are made alike... the hex bolt I got didn't have threading all the way to head, and the cap I got was rounded at the end. I haven't found a flat cap yet... but either way it's more trips to look for the right bolt anyway,,

  • @kameshita

Unfortunately, finding the right parts seems to be a common problem. I am working on a simpler version (about three pieces of hardware that you should be able to find anywhere), but it may be a couple more weeks before I can get the video finished. In the meantime, you could try my PVC Camera Mount 2 method. Find it at: watch?v=6MrRiO6bOWk

  • Ooooh! Don't use the electric drill in the manner suggested here, unless you want to maim yourself. Use a bench vise or drill against a piece of scrap wood.

  • There are a few tips on youtube similar to this. They are all good. This one is especially good. You really nailed this problem and yop are a genius! Sadly us dudes in the UK just cannot get these basic parts, especially end stops. Its like they re unheard of ! Even getting the bolt with the right thread is blue murder. How I wish i was in the land of America where you have Walmart ! Once again, awsome tip. 10 out of 10 and major respect for your generosity.

  • @PacoWarabi badger cam... funniest thing ever...well almost. :)

  • ~~Paco, where do you live? It's so beautiful. Are you a rich aristocrat~~

living on a country club? Have you seen Caddy Shack? Can I come swim in your pool? Sometimes when I arrive at new friend's homes with my flippers, they sometimes tell me the pond would be better for me. I know what they really mean. They don't like my flipper arms given to me by the magic of Atheist Science which puts the cancer in cancer and the animal torture in animal torture.

  • I do brain surgery on a unicycle. But no no - still impressed with yours :-)

How could you make a camera mount video so funny? I really laughed at your hurdle onto the fireplace when you ended it with a handspring - hahahaha.

The chipmunk was funny - the first 8 hours, but later.... Didn't your DAW have some other tricks?

I bet everyone wants to be your friend. I know I would. But you scare me Paco. Because we can all tell you are not Mexican. What gives?
