Water change in the 55 gallon

So here is the tank in June 2009, we set this up originally January 2009. I'm doing a regular weekley %50 water change, thought it might be neat to film it time-lapse.

i do, i know its bad, but one day I'll have a aquarium water only reservoir to pull from

how do you make the water go UP in the siphon??? ive seen people do it before but just dont know how to do it.looks much more convenient than pitcher by pitcher :)

the other end of the siphon is hooked up to a tap, suction is created by using your kitchen sink. look at python 'no-spill--clean-and-fill" for more details

Good then. So you don't need to vacuum the substrate in a planted tank?

sometimes i do, but very lightly near the front of the tank and not as deep as traditional gravel bead cleaning

4x65 watt power compact fluorescent, substrate is a mix of various brands, I do remember using some amano stuff and some of the iron perlite gravel as well
