One meets plenty of "intelligent" (i.e. erudite / sharp / articulate / in possession of a high IQ) people who have conservative/narrow artistic tastes, though.
Incidentally, in every reading of this poem I've seen/heard, Bernstein misreads the line as "has no bogma". Dude has some issues...
I felt like his slow, jerky reading could be interpreted as ableist for mocking those who have a lower IQ.. but I get the point of the poem, which is not ableism, and ultimately I liked it. Or, haha, "it's ultimate mood is affirmative." thanks for posting this
