It's strange the position of Italian American's in US society, it's the opposite of the view of Italians in Europe. At least from a British perspective, Italians are viewed as the must cultured, urbane and sophisticated nation, with the best food, wine and art, and don't they know it! On the flip side, Italians are viewed as a bit crappy at wars, and the men are considered, well, no offense, but, pussys. It really is the converse to the American perception.
