  • "Mojukwe" -- "Greetings" in Baka. What makes Baka so unusual is that it is a Ubangian language of the Niger-Congo family. But 30% of the vocabulary is of a language that the Pygmies spoke in ancient times. When the taller Africans drove them into the forests, they took on their language. But with Baka, some of the ancient language still exist. Now Baka is being threaten by French and Lingala. It is not formally recognized in Gabon, and not used in the media.
