This video shows us testing the LIS302DL Accelerometer to detect motion. Our Project/Game Kimono Dragons will use gestures to control the game in many way - the Accelerometer are crucial part of making that happen.
In this test, the Accelerometer grabs gravity data and sends it to the Arduino via the SPI protocol. The arduino then processes the data and changes the display based on the data. In the video, the red bar on the display corresponds to the movement in the X-axis, the blue bar corresponds to the movement in the Y-axis and the green bar corresponds to the movement in the Z-axis.
Kimono Dragons a Graduate multimedia project currently under development at California State University - East Bay. It is a smart clothing game that creates an intersection between tactile interface devices, fabric-based electronics and digital pet technology. The game facilitates a connection between players behavior and their respective digital pets and allows two players to interact in the physical world.
