you have old video card. fog of war is real fog.i've watched other gameplays.

Fog of war looks like clouds normally, not fog. And this is a setting you can manually pick yourself, it has nothing to do with your video card or the rest of yout video settings. You could play with all settings on High and still pick Minimal for the fog of war out of personal preference (as I do).

Does it matter if instead of black my games have a fog over it? I have 1 and 5 and they both have fog instead of the black (covering the land undiscovered).

I've been playing previous Civs, and even a bit in this one. After watching your tutorials (mid-game, combat), I've decided to buy Civ5, and play more. Really great tutorials. I've learned a lot from them. Thx!
