My 2006 scion was just totalled. I was going 45, hit the guy who slammed his breaks in front of me, got hit from behind, and got thrown into the guy in front again. I was the only one to walk out unhurt, and the only one with a totalled car. It took the damage in all the right places. It was a shame that they have no side bags, but the 2008 (which I will be buying this week) does. These are extremely safe.

@mrpatsmith... you should be beating your kids asses.. first off.. they should have had on seat belts, and second.. if they hit a parked car.. they obviously were on a city street.. so the had to be speeding like hell seing as a road that allows you to park on it, is usually 35 mph.. yes you should be happy they are ok.. but the 16 yr old needs to have their license taken for a while.

My 16 yr old daughter crashed a 06 toy sci xb w/my 15 yr old son in the front seat (without a seat belt on). They hit a 2009 Dodge parked pickup at 70 miles per hr.BOTH air bags deployed- Had they NOT neither of my children wouldn't be here. The toyota sustained front end damage, probably totaled the vehicle. There is no doubt in my mind, the DPS Officer, or the wrecker driver who was at the scene of the accident, it was the airbags that saved their lives! Especially my son's! :) Smiling Momma

@seanhandy89 It does FINE with front impact. But cars won't always choose to hit you from the front lol. It is scarey looking at the side impact crash tests

personally i dont have a box but my man does & i have been in the worst situation ever when it comes to box accidents a Van literally wanted to play monster trucks with him & he did the car was not totaled but to be honest with the whole slam here & there we left walking with no injuries & i know first hand that the Xb's are probably one of the safest cars out there i would recommend it to anyone..
