    All the songs on this album are thick with atmosphere. This- Beverleys composition-has atmosphere as thick as treacle, and her voice is top notch here.

    This is the landmark album for both these artists, showing them moving away from the normal folk conventions. Wish they could've knocked a couple or 3 more out as good or near this, at least. Despite the 'problems' written about, they were great as a duo, and both wrote very strong material and performed exqusitely.

    I had the privelige of hearing Bevs comeback gig in hastings 18 0dd yrs back, it was an amazing night and her and I spent the night partying and swapping our life stories, just before she was due to leave the UK, lovely lady and I wish her all the best .never forgot that amazing night.

    I agree this is an amazing album with many very strong tracks. For me, though, I don't think John adn Beverley did a track together that ever really showed just what Beverley was capable of. Anyone who is lucky enough to have heard her singing (or recordings of it) with the Levee Breakers before she hooked up with John will know what I'm talking about. Those performances, when she was just 16, were incredible.
