Froogle takes a look at how the Alienware M11xR2 and M11xR3 ultra portable notebooks can handle Battlefield 3.

The R2 specs were Core i5-520UM, 4 gig of Ram, 1 gig GeForce 335M.

The R3 specs were Core i5-2467M, 6 gig of Ram, 1 gig Geforce GT540M

Neither machine was overclocked.

  • This or a aurora? With this its a porteble machine that can atleast handle any game i play, and it is porteble. With the aurora i can get MUCH better performance at the same proce, and biuld on it if it gets old. help, cause i really want both and the same price. And i know the m14x, but that thing is over 6.5 pounds, and im only in to light laptops

  • @MultiSnoopDawg I'm not the right guy to ask dude - I have both.

  • @frooglepete well, is the aurora so much better that its almost stupid not to get it, of if i actually want a laptop beast is the m11x the right one :D? If we go from, i would like a light laptop if it can play it, else i would get a desktop, is that any good? thx for any help

  • @MultiSnoopDawg Than the M11x? Yes! 6 to 8 times more powerful by standard benchmarks. If you are looking at an Aurora though many people will encourage you to actually build your own machine - you could probably do the same performance cheaper that way. In terms of getting a laptop, the M11x is an extremely specialized machine - for people that absolutely want a mobile machine that can game without a connected power supply. The 14x and 17x are more powerful.

  • Should i sell my gaming desktop and my laptop and buy the mx14?

  • @XxWaterStreamxX If I were replacing all my computers with one, I'd probably go with another desktop (cheaper, more power) or an M18x (almost portable, lots of expansion)

Or like they wont co-oporate and the only way to know is by doing a stress test D: M11x incoming xD

  • @frooglepete My desktop has plenty of power trust me i just hate the fact that its not portable so do you think i should just sell my laptop get a summer job and pay for it so i have A EPIC SETUP?
