Here is a better video to show you that the Line 6 Spider Valve amplifier can play all sorts of metal. The distortion on this amp is better than a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier (in my opinion!) and has many capabilities with the assortment of effects.

Sounds good to me. Almost a killswitch engage, unearth style metalcore tone. I am actually getting that amp and will try it out with my new 8 string. I think it should sound pretty good.

Regarding your interest in a Mesa Cab for this head; I played this head with various cabs to try and find the closest thing to the sound that I wanted, i.e. Crisp Clean Tone, Warm Bluesy sound, Bright Jazzy Tone, Deep Crunch, Beefy Distortion etc. In my experience, I found that the Mesa Cab was too Bassy for the Line 6 Head. I went through about 10 different cabs and finally, I achieved the tone that I wanted with the Marshall 1960 Cab. Just a suggestion before you embark on your Cab Journey.

England you dickhead, New Wave Of British Heavy Metal or NWOBHM preceded all the bay area thrash scene plus i think you'll find that quite a large part of the american metal scene has its roots in punk. but this argument is boring...there's not enough personal insults being slung about.
