  • I have the M18 and ordered this as I liked the 18v and needed a compact. Great drill, but still too big and heavy, nearly as heavy as my 18v and half a pound more than the Bosch. It's still nice as a light duty standalone, but too big to be a true compact, and does not work well as a compliment to a larger drill as its size and weight are so close I just always use the 18v anyway.

  • @dcl97 I find that a combination of this Milwaukee 10.8V and a 36v Dewalt is best, the only time I grab 18v is if both have depleted batteries.

  • Have you had any trouble with the chuck loosening on its own? Several amazon reviews mention it.

I'm between this and the bosch, great vids. I kinda like how the bosch is a bit more compact but if the milwaukee is built better and has better power it's a no brainer. I do like the milwaukee's bigger batteries too.

yes I had the chuck loosen but that only happens if you are lazy and only tighten it one click. If you give it a firm twist it does not let go. The reason it happens because of electric brake and chuck inertia, and it happens on $90 ROHM chucks on Dewalt drills. Not really a flaw. With the XC batteries, never drain them completely dead in flashlights - you will ruin them.

Thanks. Would you say the milwaukee is a lot more powerful than the bosch or only a little bit?

I really like both, and may end up buying both to see which I'd like more, but because the bosch is a bit more compact it has the edge for me at the moment. Power doesn't seem to be an issue with either. Thanks again for the vid. Yours is the only one on youtube so far besides the bosch vid.

  • @NiteWalkerGR I'd say milwaukee has 25% more torque

  • For anyone on the fence regarding what 12 volt line to invest in: Bosch's 10.8/12v *Max offers 10 tools & 1 battery option, Makita 10.8v roughly 10 tools & 1 battery, DeWalt 18.8/12v *max has maybe 12 tools & 1 battery.

M12 has 60+ tools and 2 batteries (2.4amp/hr XC) and the longest manufacturer warranty of the 4 lines.

  • @iCaCellarDoor Yeah I figured that. I've used a lot of drills over a long while; everything from a ryobi to a hitachi to a makita. I always hand tighten and never had a chuck loosen.

  • @NiteWalkerGR The chuck won't loosen if you hand tighten it.

  • @toolhackerdotcom, thanks appreciate the response!
