  • I recommend changing chair with the bench. Because some people are fat and clumsy. They could overturn the cair very easily.

  • @sfull006 Yes, you just did my job for me. Lifting will give you a higher muscle metabolism which means you're burning more calories, even at rest. As for the comment about powerlifters, that is due to the immense amount of calories they eat. Like, an ungodly amount of food. Why not compare marathon runners to bodybuilders instead? Almost every guy in my gym does no cardio whatsoever, yet has a single didget bodyfat percentage.

  • Nightmare on the rotator cuff..

  • shes doing it too far from the chair

haha. How about we just agree that both are important forms of exercise and both will help you lose weight.

Lifting weights does not burn fat. Cardio does burn fat. That being said, the more muscle you have the higher metabolic rate you'll have, which means you burn more calories throughout the day. So yes ideally you should do both. However I was responding to the question will chair dips help me lose weight. It's an awesome exercise but you could do these till your eyes popped out and probably not lose a pound. I see a lot of fat power lifters but not many fat marathon runners. Hmmm...
