Nicholas Roerich

Nicholas Roerich, (October 9, 1874 - December 13, 1947) also known as Nikolai Konstantinovich Rerikh (misspelled surname) (Russian: Николай Константинович Рёрих), was a Russian painter and spiritual teacher. He was the father of Tibetologist George Roerich (a.k.a. Yuri Roerich) and artist Svetoslav Roerich. Nicholas and his wife Helena Roerich were co-founders of the theosophical Agni Yoga Society.

Born in pre-revolutionary St. Petersburg, Russia to the family of a well-to-do notary public, he lived around the world until his death in Punjab, India. Trained as an artist and a lawyer, his interests lay in literature, philosophy, archaeology and especially art.A short Video created by Sooraj Dominic

Whoever is the speaker in this video, you pronounce Nicholas' last name - Roerich wrong. It should sound not as Roerich with the 'CH' sound at the end but pronounced as Rerihh, with a hard 'H'. Every time you say it wrong it cuts through my ears. Other ways, the video is very nice. If you can fix that it would be splendid.

Thank you for posting this. You refer to an exhibition bringing together some of NR's finest works. Is this a reference to your video, or a museum exhibition now in progress. I know many of the paintings you show are part of the Roerich Museum collection in NYC.
