  • @ExitosGnosis you are one of the VERY FEW people who have shown appreciation to these types of arrangements from a theoretic view...i'm particularly taken by the fierce exotic scales that all Ethiopian music seem to possess...

  • thanks for the upload! this is SO funky! he accomplishes the discordant arrangements through the really clever distribution of instruments, particularly how he hides those gnarly intervals in the low vibes and piano/organ. friggin brillyint!

  • @briteness :)

  • I'm not crazy about jazz but this music ....

  • music of the heavens!

speaks from the heart for the mind so the body can feel....this is going to be on repeat for the years to come!

EatNopales thank you for the wonderful gift!

    greetings from Greece

  • great work

  • you sure played it safe on that one...lol

  • @tigcircus - Yes, Ethiopian jazz needs some new blood but the old guys are still very much alive. Mulatu and Mamoud are very much alive. As far as sophistication, look back at the jazz of Miles Davis, Bill Evans and John Coltrane and you will see much sophistication as opposed to the more simplified smooth jazz of today which serves to relax more than sweep you away in complexity,
