@kkallebb Didn't you watch part 6? In that section, Packer says that he does not want to believe that homosexuals will be damned, yet he dare not disbelieve it as he believes it is the will of God. Also, what makes him 'sick' is not gay unions, but the distortion of scripture for ideological purposes.
I can't believe that the gay issue threatens the church in the essential way that Arianism did. I consider myself just about as conservative, theologically, as Packer is, and I respect Packer greatly, but I simply can't believe that the further oppression of gay people is what Christ demands. Packer is "sickened" by gay unions. I am sickened by the oppression of gays. His conscience opposes the blessing of gay unions, my conscience opposes denial of that blessing.

A wonderful theologian & man of God. He is so right. We do need the Jeremiah's like him to keep the majority on the biblical track.
