this game is one of the most addictive games ive ever played, its just so much fun

Experienced grunt gets killed -> mission abort -> load game before experienced grunt gets killed -> experienced grunt gets killed again -> mission abort -> load game before experienced grunt gets killed -> (...) -> alien misses (some 3 hours later) -> experienced grunt kills alien with blaster but dies in the explosion ... :D
See it's all a matter of time! :D

Reloading the game warrants no challenge and is pointless. Reloading in any single player strategy is just fucking lame.

Why do all the X-Com gamplay vid players move their units as far as they can, leaving no points for firing in defence? I have yet to see one vid where the player is showing a strategy that will win them the game without cheating! Sorry, don't mean this as a flame, but it is quite frustrating watching what seem like suicide missions! How you have experienced men for the end battles escapes me!:)

I got the game's windows version that came with a PC Gamer Classics CD. But it won't work on my Vista. Whenever I open it, it gives me an APPCRASH error, and I can't seem to find the proper way to patch it. Any ideas?

I still have the Original Game CD from the German Version ^^
But it doesn't work anymore on Windows XP q__Q
So i have to play a cracked Version and the Music sucks there, its way different from the Original one..

Anyway, I was first playing this 13 or 14 years ago so it's part of my life too. I was 6 years old :-D It's part of my youth and it's even more good

You have to download DosBox, install it and then drag Ufo-EU .exe file to shortcut of DosBox on your desktop ... everything else is automatic
