He says which bit rates you can record at, which gives you the best idea of the quality available. Either way, the Alesis product has its own condenser mics, 2 xlr outputs with phantom power, and is compatable with more ipods than just the itouch and iphone. You can even just plug the Alesis into a mixer and record live from the mixer. Basically the iPro will get you basic convenient recording, that will sound good, the Alesis will get you better quality/options, and is a little bulkier.
@TAXavier07 I wish I had a definitive answer for you TAXavier, but I unfortunately own neither an iphone, nor one of these field recorders.
