Did you ever make paper beads as a kid? Here is a whole new twist on them, bringing them in league with the best in mixed media jewelry making. We will review how to cut the paper, roll the bead, glue it and glaze it with Janice Mae's Vibrance Paper Glaze. Then we will discuss the different aspects of using recycled magazine paper as opposed to newer papers such as handmade paper, mulberry paper, text and script papers as well as brown glassine. After making the beads we'll talk about wrapping them with fiber or binding them with wire and embellishing with seed beads. The kits are sold, along w the glaze at http://www.bsueboutiques.com Also, follow my blog Jewelry Making Outside the Box, http://www.bsueboutiques.typepad.com as I will be posting more paper bead making experiments! Soon I want to try text beads dipped in Ice Resin! You will want to be on board for that one! Questions? Please contact me through my website or blog, as sometimes I do not see comments here at YouTube quickly, and sometimes there are glitches and I am not able to post back to you. I want to hear from you! Follow the blog, or come and be part of my community at the B'sue Boutiques Facebook Page! Have you liked our page yet? I would love it if you would!

  • Stretch cord works well also. Elmers glue sticks work really well and are inexpensive.

  • Stretch cord works well also.

  • I also Take a peice of DMC floss through the inside of my beads to make sure they are semi waterproof on the inside as well

  • I Make Paper beads out of many different materials, I have found that thinner papers work better. I have made several projects out of Vintage wrapping paper. I roll my beads on a Quilling tool. They have bead rolling tools out there though. Slick papers are harder to roll. Textured paper is fun. I use a product called Triple Thick to seal my beads

  • This is so good I like these!!
