There's a little story behind this video. In the ninth grade, we were assigned to write an essay about how one person can influence others, and I didn't know what to write so I wrote a story about someone committing suicide and how their family coped with their loss. It wasn't until I turned in the paper that I really started worrying about what my teacher would think; a teenager, who didn't really talk much, writing about suicide. Well the next day, someone told me that my essay made my teacher cry, and I was still worried because crying doesn't immediately mean someone liked what I wrote, but then they said, "It was so good that it made her cry."
And that's when I first realized the powerful effect writing can have on people; it can move and influence others in ways you never thought possible.
I think I had an A- on that paper because of some grammatical or spelling errors, but it was by far the most rewarding lesion that I learned in high school.
