Black Rose is one of my favourite albums and Silver Blue my favourite song from that. I'm also a great fan of Gustav Dore so I decided to combine the song with images from Dore's illustrations in Milton's Paradise Lost (:

  • highly strange combo combo, the music + Dore illustrations. disconnect.

  • @63artemisia63 Simple solution, just listen to the music and don't look at the pictures.

  • Complete Nirvana could anything better this, the complete song, singer, musicians and production. FABULOUS.

  • I love this album. (Black Rose) I own it on vinyl even though I don't have anything to play it on. God 1976, were we ever that young....

  • @woundedduck75 I am so sorry for your loss. Phil was so lucky to have a friend like you! Have a great day.

  • @jjhollywoo I love L. Cohen. I like Prine as well. Souther has a beautiful voice. I agree with you.

  • my tattoo, of a black rose, was inspired by this album, and by the death of my friend Phil.

  • "Black Rose" is a treasure. This song is stunning. I think JD has written some of the most beautiful ballads during his era (which still continues from the early 70s). Thank you for this beautiful post. How can we get some SHF band stuff on youtube?

  • Stanley Clarke plays such an expressive double bass on this tune, always a big fan of both Stanley and J.D. but this song...wow! So haunting....

  • BLACK ROSE would be 1 of my CDs I would take to a desert island if 10 were all I were aloud. Stanley Clark and JD on acoustic guitar w/ a touch of Peter Asher. Just too damn good!!

  • i am in awe, i am a hge cohen fan, dylan, this guy is pretty close
