Here's a clip with two dance couples: the champions of the World charleston dance contests: Jeremy and Alicia, Minn & Corina. But also, it's a clip with a soundtrack taken from Ken Russell's 1971 masterpiece movie: "The Boy Friend". Who sings that "Ultimate Charleston"?? - Tommy Tune & Antonia Ellis.

The title of the song (as it goes in the movie) is: "Won't You Charleston With Me?" (Composer Sandy Wilson). The singing and tap dance: Tommy Tune & Antonia Ellis.

  • Great rendition of the Boyfriend song beautifully matched with a film where folks can really do the Charleston. So why don't all of you fucking assholes just shut the fuck up and stop fucking analyzing it ? Sit back and enjoy it. Who fucking cares who originally did what?

  • I think you misunderstand what I meant - it is a shame you feel you need to rude!

Sandy Wilson wrote play and the musical score, the music was not represented in the best way in the film as it was represented as being played by amateurs which makes it less good. That is why I suggested you listened to it as it was intended when it was sung by Julie Andrews.

  • since it was used in a Ken Russell movie of that musical, you can't very well say it has nothing to do with Ken Russell

(unless you're intentionally trying to be the most obtuse dimwit in the UK, in which case you've succeeded wonderfully!)

  • The sound track has nothing to do with Ken Russell it is the music from the original stage musical written by Sandy Wilson, if you want to hear it sung properly listen to Julie Andrews sing the songs from the original Broadway play, on DVD.

  • OMG, this people really know how to charleston. I love it. Greetings from Spain

  • Bravo!!! - Zefren

  • I'm having a party in the Hamptons on
