I recently saw the Pipilotti Rist exhibition at MoMA, Pour Your Body Out (7354 Cubic Meters) and was very taken with the immersive nature of the installation. This video is a poor substitute for seeing it in person, but considering that the show closes February 2nd, I offer this representation of what magnificently, for a few short months, was.

  • This is Pipilotti singing right? I love her music and wonder if it is her- it seems like her style but more mellow. Is it her?

  • It's actually Sigor Ros mixed with the ambient room audio - the room audio actually takes over at 1:54 because it was the best bit of audio recording I had then back to Sigor Ros at 2:24.

  • Is it technically difficult to set up screens with projections in this way?

I want to make a video installation that almost surrounds you, like in this video.

  • You may want to direct your question to the good folks at Sharff Wiesberg who built the technical end of this particular exhibition. The MoMA website (and YouTube consequently) has some behind the scenes interviews and footage that will also give you a sense of the scope of the project and the kind of difficulty getting it all together.

  • What Sigur Ros song is this?

  • Does anybody know if these videos are available on dvd???

  • Thanks for your info.

I'll have a look. I guess it must be difficult, since I haven't seen it around much and I guess we are not the the only people who had this idea.

Too bad that thes projects are only possible if you're already famous, or if you have a lot of money. But I'm gonna launch my idea's somewhere, and hopefully I'll get cooperation...

  • I used this video for class since I missed the exhibit. Thanks a lot! :D

  • Thats cool...it looks like a Yoko Ono-esque type thing... :)
