It's not really Luke that Felicia sees. It's Lorna. Lorna says she thought everybody would be gone. Felicia replies that she just needed to spend some more time with Luke. Lorna says she can come back later, but Felicia wants Lorna to stay, so Lorna does. Lorna says she didn't think it was a good idea for her to go the memorial service. Felicia tells Lorna she understands, and she's sure Luke would have too. Felicia then asks if Luke said anything to Lorna before he died. Lorna says that yes, they talked about a lot of things, and she shares Luke's final moments with Felicia, and shows Felicia that she's wearing the ring, and she tells Felicia about Luke putting it on her finger and what he said. Felicia tells Lorna they've wasted so much time, and Luke never got the chance to tell Lorna how he really felt, but Lorna tells Felicia that Luke did. He told Lorna he loved her. And then he died. Lorna picks up a handful of dirt and sprinkles it at the head of Luke's grave and says, "I love you too, Daddy."
Felicia tells Lorna that when one door closes, another one opens. Lorna says that she has a real knack for choosing the right door, doesn't she? Felicia says this door was chosen for them; Felicia did lose Luke, but she found Lorna. "There's a consolation," Lorna says. Felicia insists it is a consolation because she sees Luke when she looks at Lorna. Felicia asks Lorna if she thinks she'll be all right, and Lorna says yes. Felicia tells Lorna if Lorna ever needs to talk...
Felicia starts to leave, but Lorna calls her name. Felicia comes back, and Lorna tells her this is the second time Lorna has buried her family. Felicia sits beside Lorna again. Lorna thinks she's being punished for not being a better person. Felicia tells Lorna that's not true; Lorna has been through so much, and she's done it always by herself. Lorna says she's sick and tired of being alone. When Felicia reminds Lorna that she still has her grandmother, and her grandmother adores her, Lorna says that's not enough. Felicia tells Lorna that she'll always be here for Lorna. "You can come home with me, if you want to," Felicia says.
"I'm not the good daughter," Lorna warns Felicia. "You have one of those."
"Don't you know by now? You're my baby girl," Felicia says.
Lorna turns to look at her mother. "I want my family, Felicia," she says. "I wanna come home."
Felicia kisses both of Lorna's cheeks, and they hug, and then Felicia is holding Lorna there at Luke's grave, and Luke's face is superimposed over the right side of the screen as if he's looking on at his wife and their daughter. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.
This is my favorite AW scene ever. I simply love the relationship between Lorna and Felicia. Everytime I see this scene I cry
