@wizzzeeee Asian Carp are an invasive species. They terrorize the native fish populations and in turn, the entire ecosystem. It's basically like bacteria taking over our bodies...the rivers are infected with a disease!
I think you should leave the 'problem' alone....you never know...they could be there for a reason...don't ever think that there is no reason for things like this happening...soon could be a food source for those around this area. Follow your National Weather Channel.
Asian carp, also known as SiverCarp was introduced by Catfish farmers in the southern US.Souther American introduced these species to their ponds decades ago, hoping they’d filter out unwanted algea. This all worked fine until the ponds breached during flooding in the early 1990s and the carp found their way into rivers that feed into the Mississippi. Then they found their way into the Mississippi and started working their way north, toward the Great Lakes
@WildlifeAlec there is its called get big commercial nets out there and spread them out and catch them by the school. just like the do with any fish caught for money and there is a market for the wild caught Asian carp in china so there is also money to be made.
@0ct0ct09 Write to your senators! Write to whoever you can. We need the Chicago Shipping Canals to be permanently separated from the Great Lakes!
